Hello Everyone,
sorry last week was really short just was really crazy but i am here in Samoa for another transfer which is great i love these people and i am not ready to say good bye just yet. This past week was great we have been enjoying the sun it has been great i have been getting a little tan it is amazing. we have a elder here from Canada and he was dying because it got up to 73 degrees and i said it was a beautiful winter day in Arizona he said that i live in heck lol but i love it and glad i can all it home. my companion and i have been walking around a lot and it has been great our favorite thing to do is ride the bus we are in a car and the car gets old really fast so we like to walk. for exercise we have been walking to the ocean and it is amazing i love it. one day when we went for a walk we started talking to this really old Indian guy he could not speak English very well but we tried to share the gospel with him but i guess all he was looking for was a "partner" he was lonely and needed a women in his life and i told him i was 20 and that i was still a child and he turned bright red and said he had to go. it was great i love old men especially old creepy ones they are the best. but anyway being a missionary is the best i have so many stories not all good ones but some pretty amazing ones I love sharing what i know with people the world needs what i have and i would die for what i know and that is ALL of us are children of God. The Book of Mormon is The word of God and anyone who reads it with an open heart will see what i see. Joseph Smith was and is a Prophet of God and he did so much for a fallen and ruin world. Jesus Is the Christ and the savior of the world and because of him i will be with my family forever. I love all pf you so much. Please Give Grandam Carter a hug and a kiss for me and tell her i will see her again. Again I love you allMonday, April 14, 2014

another great week has gone by in argentina! the work is going great, we have some members that really enjoy working with us and that helps a lot! we have a couple investigators now that seem really great, we will see what time will tell. but the work has just been great. besides walking everywhere for extended periods of time i feel great. this last saturday we did get some new bikes though so that should help a lot. my companion is just getting to his year mark this week so we will be playing with fire and burning a shirt of his. dont ask why we do it because they all say the same thing...tradition!! that and its fun:P one of the new investigators we found this week was a 14 year old boy named cristian. he was alone outside waiting for his mom to get home when we taught him. we taught him about the restoration and he seemed very interested. but the next time we see him we want to get a hold of his mother so that we can teach them both. we will see what happens. Monday night elder colivoro and i were in charge of the family home evening lesson that we have every other week for less actives and new investigators. we spoke about the importance of general conference and how its literally gods way of talking to us through his servants. and how we can receive personally revelation through their words. and then afterwards i was in charge of the game. there were about 18 people there and all somewhat young and even some children. so i had everyone tie balloons to both of there feet and run around trying to pop everyone elses:P it was really great to see everyone having a good time and participating. the blessings of this church are true and i notice this more and more with every moment. there is no doubt that we have in our possessions gods mighty work, and not only is it a missionaries job to share the gospel but everybodies . so i hope we all take the advice of richard g.scott, and share the gospel with someone:)
i love you all, i hope everything continues to stay well.

HELLO EVERYONE!!!!!!
well this week has been good lots of people tp teach and find!! last week we had a baptism Ave was baptised and be bore his testimony yesterday at church it was a really cool experience. I am so excited for anthony that is so cool chile how excited Jason and i are the only ones who didnt get to speak spanish on our missions and i am the only one who has no idea how to speak spanish thats ok though i can barley speak English lol well being a missionary is definitely not easy and for all of you who are getting your mission calls know that God trust you Satan hates you and so satan will do everything in his power to make you stay home so do the small things read your scriptures say your prayers GO TO THE TEMPLE!!!!!!!!!!! power up now because once you get on a mission everything you are going to share with the people you serve will be tested and just because you have a name badge doesn't mean trials will not come because they will. We are the Lords front line right now we are protecting the world so that means that we are going to be the ones who get most of the fire. but just like it says in Jacob 5 the Lord is with us helping us. Also remember that the Lord is preparing people right now before you even get there for you so dont give up never give in God is with you!! Jesse - Email - March 31, 2014
I Totally called that anthony was going to Chile!!!!! I am really excited for him and the chance he has to serve in santiago!
this week has been great! its been fun to try and start anew in a area. its actually been really fun! for this whole week we walked around with a map in our hands trying to figure out where people lived:P but luckily the streets mostly have names of countries, so there a little easier to remember. our main focus for these next transfer is to really get to know the members, go to lessons with them and get to know there families. the members live here so they know a lot more than we do about...well everything. so they are our main focus for now. ive also never worked with members that have been ex-communicated before! and we have three in this area so there are different rules with them that we have to follow so it will be fun. the area is beautiful though! its finally starting to cool down and the trees are changing colors! part of our area is a kinda center of safford, thatcher area but then you walked 8 blocks and it turns to more fields and humble homes, i love it! and there is a panaderia close to our apartment so we dont have to go too far to get some donuts!! there are some members here too that are just amazing and really want to help us with the work so we have that going for us too! overall i dont think im going to want to leave this area. we did end up walking a ton though because we are waiting for some bikes but man, after sitting in a hospital for a month and driving in a truck for two weeks, walking everywhere we went was hard!!! so im really looking forward to those bikes:P other than that we are having some success and im just enjoying mission work and stepping more outside of my comfort zone. ive learned that if i get an impression to do something to just do it! before it was hard to clap at a front door and talk to a complete stranger, or while im sitting on the bus or train or bus stop. i still lack faith sometimes but im getting better:) i hope everyone at home knows i love them! even all the way over here in Argentina:)

good news! i did finally get transferred today. and the area that im in now is called San Vicente and im really excited for this area. for one ive been waiting to get back to doing the work for over a month now and two its in a really pretty spot. this area is actually away from the city and is a little more open, kinda like home. but my new companion is elder Colivoro from Chile! so everyone of my companions up to this point has been a latin and from a different country. the first was from Peru, Ecuador, Argentina and now Chile.
the past week was really good though, i got to do some things that not every missionary gets to do. i got again go to a lot of the areas in the mission to drop off fridges and stoves, i also got to make the phone calls in the offices so i did help a little there. but i would have to say that the best part was that on friday we went to the capital just me and the registrators in the office(who are Elders) and we went to go pick up all the packages that families send the misisonaries but while we waited for the extremely long process we got to go to some japanese gardens. i mean this place was awesome! it really made me want to go to japan and just look at gardens which isnt something i would normally do. i have a lot of fotos that i took of that trip but now i cant send them because the only computer here that has USB is being used:P so that will have to wait til next week sorry. but mom you would've loved the outlook and all the flowers there! ohh and the coy fish in the water were huge too. there were some other stories that happened this week that wouldn't be appropriate to share at this time or probably ever:P
i also got to figure out that the office elder which consist of the assistants, registrators and pensioneros have a really different way of life on the mission. it is fun but they have a lot of responsibilities. probably not something i will be doing while im here:P i think one of my favorite things though was meeting the people in different wards. for me its just fun to me to meet strangers abd talk. and it made me want to go to my own area which i now have! ohh and a little more about my area, its a lot smaller than the areas ive been in but still has a lot of work to be done. my companion is the district leader so that should be fun too because in our district we only have sister missionaries and us two. which is alot different because ive never had sisters in my district before. now thats all we have. but im am doing really good, im extremely happy and excited for this new area.
i find myself craving to do service now, just to see the results of something ive done and see the people that have benefitted from it. everything for right now seems like sunshine and rainbows but im ready for the hard times because my companion and i are white washing this area/starting from scratch and trying to life it back up again. it sounds like everyone is doing great at home, the only thing i have to say is find happiness in service and seek for any chance to share the gospel. as the missionaries have been told, be Bold but not overbearing:P i love you all and pray for the best.
Love, Elder Whetten
