Jesse E-mail - March 24, 2014

good news! i did finally get transferred today. and the area that im in now is called San Vicente and im really excited for this area. for one ive been waiting to get back to doing the work for over a month now and two its in a really pretty spot. this area is actually away from the city and is a little more open, kinda like home. but my new companion is elder Colivoro from Chile! so everyone of my companions up to this point has been a latin and from a different country. the first was from Peru, Ecuador, Argentina and now Chile. 

the past week was really good though, i got to do some things that not every missionary gets to do. i got again go to a lot of the areas in the mission to drop off fridges and stoves, i also got to make the phone calls in the offices so i did help a little there. but i would have to say that the best part was that on friday we went to the capital just me and the registrators in the office(who are Elders) and we went to go pick up all the packages that families send the misisonaries but while we waited for the extremely long process we got to go to some japanese gardens. i mean this place was awesome! it really made me want to go to japan and just look at gardens which isnt something i would normally do. i have a lot of fotos that i took of that trip but now i cant send them because the only computer here that has USB is being used:P so that will have to wait til next week sorry. but mom you would've loved the outlook and all the flowers there! ohh and the coy fish in the water were huge too. there were some other stories that happened this week that wouldn't be appropriate to share at this time or probably ever:P 

i also got to figure out that the office elder which consist of the assistants,registrators and pensioneros have a really different way of life on the mission. it is fun but they have a lot of responsibilities. probably not something i will be doing while im here:P i think one of my favorite things though was meeting the people in different wards. for me its just fun to me to meet strangers abd talk. and it made me want to go to my own area which i now have! ohh and a little more about my area, its a lot smaller than the areas ive been in but still has a lot of work to be done. my companion is the district leader so that should be fun too because in our district we only have sister missionaries and us two. which is alot different because ive never had sisters in my district before. now thats all we have. but im am doing really good, im extremely happy and excited for this new area. 

i find myself craving to do service now, just to see the results of something ive done and see the people that have benefitted from it. everything for right now seems like sunshine and rainbows but im ready for the hard times because my companion and i are white washing this area/starting from scratch and trying to life it back up again. it sounds like everyone is doing great  at home, the only thing i have to say is find happiness in service and seek for any chance to share the gospel. as the missionaries have been told, be Bold but not overbearing:P i love you all and pray for the best.

Talofa!!

Well there is not a whole lot to report on this week was pretty slow but we do have a baptism coming up for Ave he finally decided to get dunked!!! we are so excited!!! some other great new Sister Batton and i are going to down town Seattle today we are going to the gum wall the space needle it is going to be great i cant wait. well i love you all and hope you are having a great week know that i love  yall and so does the Lord!!!!!\

well to start off this weeks later i wasnt able to email yesterday due to the fact that i was still in the hospital with my companion. we finally got the news on whats going to go on with him, hes being sent home sometime this week. so this next transfer i will be starting o ff in a new area with a new companion because la florida is being closed for a little while due to the fact that more missionaries left this transfer than came. but im just excited to know that i will be back to doing the work again!!

this last week i was able to leave the hospital for 5 days and be with the pensioneros (Assistants to the President)  again and some pretty fun things happened. One of the things that happened was that we got caught in a rain storm while we were trying to fix the propane stove to one of the sister missionaries apartments. its one of those stoves thats on the inside but the propane tank is just on the other side of the wall. and considering they need this gas for hot water and cooking, it was kinda important that we got it done. so we had a really cold night in the rain. ohh and we didnt have rain coats because we had no idea it was going to rain:P so that was good. the second really crazy story is that we saved a handicapped kid from a flooding car:P so after we had finished a service project the day after the rain storm we had to go run some errands for the mission office. well to get to where we wanted to go we had to go under a railroad track. well since the day before it had just rained it had a good 3 feet of water down inside of it. well in the process of us 5 missionaries blasting the pirates of the Caribbean theme song and blowing through the water in the mission truck another little car wasnt so lucky. this little blue car got stuck because the water got inside of the engine. well this man was hanging outside of the window asking us for help because water was coming in his car and his little boy was laying in the back seek. so i threw on some sandals and went into the water and rescued the boy through the car window. well turns out i took him to the wrong side, so we got him in the car told him that today he was a pirate, played "hes a pirate" and went through the water with him. the joy in his eyes was amazing and even though i haven't been doing to much proselyting, i still found that feeling in giving service. so that was my thought for the week, that its not always through words that we can share the gospel, but in our service. yes afterwards we got his direction too so it all worked out great! i cant wait to see what this next transfer has in store for me though! but about Anthony's mission call, i think hes going to chile, or equador! i cant wait to find out where hes really going!  so i hope everyone is still doing great and staying out of trouble! as always i keep you in my prayers and love you all!

this week has been full of surprises! my companion ended us having some stone in his stomach that he had to get surgery for. it wasn't a hardcore cut your stomach open from the outside kinda thing though. they took a shortcut using his throat. everything went great with the surgery but something is wrong with his blood now. when they cut his open on the inside and finished he wouldn't stop bleeding, turns out the "medicine" they gave him has been thinning his blood and he would stop bleeding on the inside so they put  him in intensive care and i couldn't stay with him in that room so i got a get out of jail free card and got to hangout with the assistants for two days in there really nice apartment with air conditioning, two bedroom two bathroom argentine pent house:P i finally got to go to church with them too which was nice because I've been inactive for about three weeks now and I'm pretty sure that's frowned upon on the mission. but today was great and i finally got to eat some real food which consisted of frosted flakes for breakfast, churipan for dinner, and geeso for lunch which is a really good argentine food!! ohh yeah and when i got to visit my companion in the intensive care place i got kicked out because there was a guy that was in between two curtains who was struggling to stay alive and they had to pull out those electric shock things. but i would have to say that the best part was that i got to go and do missionary work with the assistants i mean yeah it was with their investigators but it felt great to talk about the gospel and sit down to teach a lesson. especially to see that spark that we brought to other people as they listened to us. yes its a good thing that my companion is recovering but i cant wait to return to our area and get back to work. i have more time spent inside of the hospital then i have in my new area so that has been a little weird. its been a rough couple of weeks but he wont be sick forever. i know you are probably not going to be expecting this letter because its Sunday but i got some special missioner from president to emial right now in his house just in case i don't get the chance to do it tomorrow. i do have a couple  questions though! how are Anthony's papers doing?? im really excited about that. and also how is aunt Tiffy? well that's about it for this week, i really hope i get the chance to talk and reply to you tomorrow but if not i love you all and i don't know if we have this but yesterday was international woman day here in south america!! so happy late woman day to all the women reading this:P

Well hello everyone!!!

 this week has been pretty amazing we had our baptism this week Junior had made the first step to going back to our heavenly father it was great to finally see what its like to help some one come closer to God. other than that not a whole lot has happened this week just a lot of missionary work which is great!!!  i am so glad to be a missionary and i am so happy to be serving with my best friend Jesse and soon be serving with my other best friend Anthony watch out world the whettens are coming to save you!! anyway the Lord works in many ways and i am so glad i am able to be apart of this great work!! hope yall are having a great week and the Lord loves you!!

(Jesse's Mission President called us on Friday to let us know that Jesse's companion had been in the hospital all week, so Jesse was there with him.  They said that he was doing good and was being very positive.  Jesse finally got to email this week)

well to start things off yes I'm still in the hospital with my companion:P and you are definatly right about me not liking it because im going crazy!! i wont lie its a pretty nice hospital but i hate being cooped up for 11 days straight with out sunshine or weather or anything. but hey i guess its preparing me in the way of patience. i always thought i had enough patience for everything but man two weeks in the hospital sucks!! today i escaped from the four walls of sickness and got to go out into the real world again. my companion stayed with a brave volunteer in the hospital while i finally got to play some soccer and eat something other than hospital food:D none of the food in there is seasoned or salted or anything haha still no Dr.Pepper and not alot of carne:P 

im really happy that there is another temple in arizona! just another one i can go to when i get back! not being able to go to the temple is a bummer, but i swear that time here is different, and it wont stop flying. 

i cant believe that anthony is finishing up with his papers!! im so excited to know where he will go! but its a really good feeling to know that our family will have 3 missionaries out at the same time. 

i feel bad because there isnt too much to tell other than ive been stuck in the hospital. and if he is in the hospital for two weeks then he has to be sent home and then i will be in an area with a new companion working somewhere that i really dont know:P its kinda exciting to know that anything could happen. either way i will be happy to be out of prison and preaching the word again:) we did have a really good talk with one of the nurses about the church though so we really haven't stopped completely. 

i hope everything goes good at home and that you all recieve some rain soon! i pray for you always and love you all!

Hello Everyone!!!

 this week has been pretty good lots of great things are happening in the Samoan ward we had 3 investigators at church and it was so amazing we also have a baoptism on saturday at 10 am we are so excited for this guy and his family he has come a long ways we are so excited for him!!! 

the sun came out for about 2 days and now there is rain again i wish i could send it to all yall because you all need it more than we do i miss feeling dry. but i love it here i love being a missionary there is nothing else i would rather be doing than serving Heavly fathers children hope you all have a great week love you tons and miss you more than words can say!!!
