Talofa!!
Well this week was great we put 4 people on date for baptism for February. I cant wait to see some one in white that i helped bring to the Gospel. Everyday that passes by just makes me so sad because it means my mission is one day closer to coming to an end. :( I love being a missionary so much and i have truly learned to love these people and the taught of going home has made me cry a few times so i just have decide to not think about it any more. but i do want to share with you some things I have learned on my mission so far.
2.) Some companions that I get will bring out the worst in me, but thats just the Lords way of helping me rely on him so that i can grow. Ether 12: 27
3.) The fastest way to bring the spirit is to sing hymns and bear a strong but simple testimony.
4.) When I extend a commitment to someone I must be willing to change too.
5.) The longer you are out on a mission the more you see how awkward you get around Elders.
6.) No matter how long you have been out on your mission your mission President will bring up marriage at every zone conference.
7.) You will get fat no matter how hard you try.
8.) The Lord will do what he wants because He knows best and doenst care how big a fit you through.
9.) Preach My Gospel is the best book every written!!!! Right under the Book of Mormon of course.
10.) Everything I am learning now is preparing me for something better.
I love being a missionary SOOOOOOOOOO much and it makes me sad to think that I wasted the first 5 months but I have learned and i will work hard and I will never back down. If any of you want to read something amazing read section 5 of Preach My Gospel it is my favorite chapter right now. thank you all for your prayers and love I promise that I will work hard. I love the Book of Mormon so much I know that it is the word of God I know that the Atonement is real and it works for everyone. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and redeemer! The Gospel of Jesus Christ is true!! I love all of you so much and I hope you are able to see all the blessings the Lord has given you today!!! till next week.

haha momma i said the snakes were flirting with us, i want nothing to do with them:P
but this week was great! we had exchanges on wednesday and i had the wonderful opportunity to almost get robbed. i was standing up on the bus and was talking to my companion when i felt a hand going down into my pocket. i turned around and hit the hand. the drunk behind me was trying to steal my wallet. i didnt say anything though because well, one he was drunk and two it would've done absolutely nothing. but this week did seem to drag on forever! it was without a doubt the longest week of the mission! i have no idea why it was that way but it was just one of those weeks:P we didnt get fed by the members this week but we managed. and the rate for buses went up this year so now we are lower on money because we have to pay almost double of what we were paying last year. i am right there at the 1/4 mark of my mission but it doesnt feel like it. time is just a blur here on the mission but i think thats the way life is going to be. im loving every minute of being out here serving the lord. i know that he sent me to this mission for a purpose i have had many moments to show it. im especially grateful for my savior and for what he did for every one of us. he suffered both physically and spiritually for every one of us. and just knowing that i caused him a portion of that pain makes me want to be a better person. makes me want to better myself and those around me. i looked at the atonement a little different this week. i know that christ is my savior and lord but this week i looked at it from a different point of view. hes is my older brother. literally when i thought of it like that i teared up a little. i was able to talk to the mission president this week too for our interviews and im pretty sure that this next transfer i will be moved:P but ive still got some time to do some more work here in Parque Baron! hopefully i can do a little more work here before i move on! i love you all and hope you enjoy this letter! your are always in my prayers!!!

Hello everyone!!!
This week has been so amazing we have truly seen miracles in our area!! Heavenly father has a plan for all of his children!! We have has so many amazing lessons with people and we have 3 people on date for baptism. The Lord is so........ amazing I am so happy to be serving a mission and being worthy to be a tool in the Lords hands there is no better feeling then teaching with the spirit and you finally feel the power of being a missionary. I have learned to love people and give of myself, and its all because the spirit is with us as missionary's and i had a rough first few months but I know that its because the Lord wanted me to see that I CAN DO HARD THINGS!!!! and now i am so lost in the work i have never worked so hard for anything in my life i only have 12 more months to share my testimony with everyone and i dont want to wast a single minute of it. I know that the Lord is keeping my family safe and Jesse will be safe and the only thing i have to worry about is sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I love you all so much and i hope that you can feel the Lords love for you!!! till next week

sounds like everyone had a great week hiking! ive had my own fair share of walking, not up hills but in uncomfortable weather:P we are getting over the end of year festivities and being homesick, so thats good! this week Ariel and tobias recieved the holy ghost and another one of Ariels sons, Leandro, was able to go to church too. we are now working on Leandron so he can get baptized by his father! its a process but there is always hope! there have been a few days this week where all of our plans fell through and we ended up just walking all day. those seem to be the hardest days for me because when we arent working my mind seems to wander to a place 5000 miles away from here:P by the way i dont know if i said this before or not but my dreams have begun to be in spanish now, its actally legit! it gives me a little hope to improve on the language that i do know. and this month sometime i finally get to go to the temple! its been six months since ive been able to go but thats not even the best part! i get to go with Maxii and his family, maria Luquez, Ariel Y tobias all the converts will be there!! so im really excited about that and especially because the temple will definatly strengthen all of their testimonys, just like it did mine. haha also this week we found out that nobody is feeding us!:D haha so we gotta go find some food this week. and really the only meal we eat here is lunch:P dinner and breakfast are just snacks and jugo! so if you dont hear from me next monday you know that one of our meals went really wrong! and there are alot more Snakes out this time of year. and im not talking the serpent snake, im talking about the lady snakes haha we have literally been sent into the mouth of the wolf! ALL of the girls wear the minimum amount of clothing and they are alomost as bad as the guys here! whistling at us through windows, and watching us walk by step by step haha its definatly a different world down here! ohh and here they have whats called carnaval, where people throw water at everyone that walks or drives by. even the buses! in water ballons buckets its crazy weve almost been hit by water balloons on several occasions. thats just about all the excitement that weve had for this week so i hope its enough till the next week! i love you all and keep you in my prayers always!
Love Elder Whetten!
