Jesse - March 25, 2015

so i apologize for not letting you all know that i wouldn't be writing Monday! our mission president told us to tell you guys but i spaced it! life goes on right! im alive and im still breathing!:) and if im lucky i think i might be able to send some pictures this week! alot of things have happened in the past week and a half! all the way from getting stuck in a gas station for an hour and a half, we are going to have a baptisms this Saturday, cleaned the heck out of our pench, and it started getting colder!!!!!! i would have to say that the temperature dropping is the best part because i sleep better!! its not super cold but yet the heat goes away at night and it drops to some good temperatures. about the being in a station for an hour and a half, we were on our way to a family home evening when we had to go pick up the members daughter. we drove like crazy to try and make it in time and it turns out that the car over heated right when we got there. i guess there was no water or something in the car and something broke...yeah im not really a fix cars kinda guy. but we ended up having to cancel the family home evening, but we did find a really cool dog that we played with as we waited. and this week i started running with my companion. i haven't done any exercises for a while now and it showed! i died from the run but then again it felt pretty dang good. usually the missionaries do their sexy six when they have six months left. i guess im going to do my thankful three...thankful because i didn't get fat on my mission but another interesting thing...person that we found this week told us that christ wasnt perfect and that he sinned just like we do. we obviously don't agree with her but then she went on to say that she knew the bible better than we did, so we asked her where is said in the bible that Christ was a sinner... she completely avoided the subject by kindly donating me a pair of church shoes. yeah she was a little interesting. but lifes good. life keeps on slipping into the future...haha Spacejam
i love you all! be safe!!! and i dont think i told you but for the first time in my mission i can enjoy the comfort of a pillow:) it was a gift from the mission. it was a little weird a first but now im goood:P

Not-so-weekly Report of the Adventurer in the Back Road

Well this week I have a little more to report. Our many days of constant contacting has finally started to pay off. We have a baptism date that we put for the end of April, it was super cool, and that was only the first leccion. We contacted her and then set another date for the next week. On that day we were running a little late and when she opened the door one of the first things she said was your late (that is after all the nicetys), so that mean she was waiting for us, which is super cool. So we did the whole first leccion and she accepted all of it. and at the end we extended the baptismal commitmentShe said that if she prays and gets the answer that this is the truth (which it is) then she would definitely get baptized. Then we extended a date and she said yes, so yeah that was super cool. Also we got lost. But let me explain, we were in our sector mot of the time, but still lost. Anyways, one day we didn't have any citas planned and well we were kinda done with the contacting thing so we decided to find out exactly what our boundaries were. So we did. We walked to the very corner of our sector and took a right. At this time it was dark and there was no on around, just cars passing on the street. So we walked and walked down this slightly busy highway to find out where our sector ended. Finally we came to like this dirt road that we thought was the end of our sector. but also we could keep gong down the highway and try to find a way that way. We couldn't decide, so we let fate take a chance and flipped a coin. Heads for the dirt road and tails for straight. Heads. So we start heading down this old dirt road, and it is super dark. WE pass this old silo that has an old advertisement on it. WE kept walking and talking about what was just out of our sight. Eventually we saw a light in the distance. as we got closer we found out it was an apartment complex, in the middle of nowhere. So we asked the gate keeper what street this was, and as we suspected it was the edge of our sector, but the road that leads back to our apartment was blocked. We asked the gate keeper if there was a way to go through the apartments and end up on the other side. He said yes and took us on a slight tour through this new apartment building in the middle of nowhere. He shows us to a little gate in the wall and told us if we go through there and turn right we could get back to where we came. So we took the challenge and went through the door. In front of us was a huge field that was all in darkness so we turned right and trudged into the darkness. Eventually we burst through the darkness and into the bright light of a street lamp. WE found ourselves in a completely different sector, so we walked down this little elevated sidewalk into the middle of the road all the way back to my comps old sector, and then back to ours. it was an adventure. But yeah that's about it, I love you all and hope you have a great week.ñ

Not-so-weekly Report of Uno Chileno entero.

that's right I have gone full chilean, well not full, I will never go full chileno but I sure sound like one, there are just so many phrases that I know that its hard not to use them. at times I get mixed up between english and spanish sometimes too, Well, this week was fun. We contacted all day everyday and sometimes it was had but we found some people. We aren't sure that its all going to work out but it should be interesting. Anways we had divs on Monday which is always fun. So thats our life right now. A never ending stream of contacts. So it should be fun to see who we find. Today was fun we played tomson ball, which is pretty much dodgeball wit one ball, it was fun. We also played "Baby" which is futball on a small cort. so yeah thats my life, Walking, but its fun, I hve gotten really good at throwing pss along card at houses. yes that is what we do if someone doesn't come out. The card usually just fall but sometimes we get them in the windows, thats when it fun. love you all and how your week is awesome.

Jesse - March 16, 2015

well, what to say this week!!?? it was a pretty dope week!! we found another possible  investigator that was pretty dang golden! she is the wife of anotonio, i dont expect everyone to remember who that is but hes cool. the first time she saw us she let us into her house gave us some water and asked what we were about. we taught the entire first lesson with her in silence...up until we started talking about the first vision. then some random guy on the other side of the street started clapping his hands( thats how we knock here) another one was playing with plastic bottles and an airplane flew over timed perfectly for first vision!! its in those moments when we are testifying of pure truth that satan wants most to distract us from what we are teaching. in the end satan failed and we finished the lesson with another one planned for this week on thursday, she even said she was going to invite her older daughter to listen. she even bore her testimony and told us she knew that the lord answered prayers. we were on a spiritual high afterwards, i cant really describe it. also today we got to eat lunch with Maximiliano who is going on his mision here in just over a month. it was good to talk to him and see the progress that hes made! we also had to change one of our baptismal dates to the 28 because of life:P but we haven't lost hope! in fact i feel really really great! i know i dont write much but just know that in these last 20 months ive grown to know that christ lives, and that is what we teach everyday. that he lives and has restored his gospel, that which we belong to. He Lives, and He Loves us.
those last two lines would be really cool with the voice of morgan freeman haha i love you all!!!

Not-So-Weekly of the new guy on the block.

So, we moved and then a week later I had changes. WOOHOO! Well not really but It happened and there is nothing I can do about it.  My new comp is E' Fernelius, (from Midville, Utah)  he is super cool. Its fun to be in a new sector. We are in Miestranza , and it is quiet. We live on the eighth floor of our apartment building. Those big bags where really hard to carry up the stairs, that is if we didn't have an elevator. But before I go into too much detail, I need to tell you what happened last week. We got two people with baptizm dates. It was super cool. Tatiana and her daughter want to get baptized! We  had a leccion on the 5 principles of the Gospel of Christ and we made a diagram like a staircase, and with tears in her eyes she pointed to the steps of baptism and confirmation saying that she knows that those are the steps she needs. It was super cool. This week was also bad. Our golden Investigator Marco turns out to be gay and sleeping with a tryvesty. The weirdest part is that when we met his palolo (boyfriend) I wasn't surprized in the slightest. But to top it all off, the Heshe kissed my hand. It was just nasty. We had to go home and wash our hands after that. E' Beja freaked. and washed his hand off with alchool. Just gross. So that was last week.Monday I said goodbye to everyone, and that sucked. Yesterday we went contacting because the sector is almost like a white-wash, but thats ok, anyways so we went contacting in a newer part that hadn't been touch very much because it is kinda far from our sector. Anyways so we went there and started contacting and we found this lady, her name is Clara and she was super nice and gave us a rundown of all of her neighbors, we also set up another cita with her to come back and get to know her and her family better. So that was the first contact we did. the second contact we did was super cool too. We were walking along and started noticing the numbers for the houses were dates. So like normal missionarys we started trying to find our birthdates. We never found 1995 but we did see a house that was 2012. We decied that 2012 was a good year and to contact it. Well we found an Indian family (from India) who speaks better english then spanish and the father is a Mechanical designer for some company in the states. So we had a whole contact in English and another cita for a week from now. So yeah that was cool. and I have a feeling thats it only the start. so thats my week, love you all. Hope your week is just awesome.

Jesse - March 9, 2015

another week down!! so many things happened that i dont know where to start! we took out another baptismal date with an elderly lady that we found. we had to let her know why we were there so thats exactly what we did. we explained who we were and why we are here serving, explained to her the covenant of baptism and took out a date. short and simple! and when we asked her she just said yes! and then asked what she had to take to get baptized, that is faith! another good moment this week was when we found antonio, he was just a contact that we made in the street. we started off with a pretty normal "hola somos  misioneros de la iglesia de jesucristo de los santos de los ultimos dias, compartimos un mensage que se centra en jesucristo y su evangelio..." (hello we are missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints , we share a message that focuses on Jesus Christ and his gospel) and the first thing he said was do you want to come in and drink some water, have a seat, get out of the sun. we invited him to the church and he accepted, he didnt show up but he seemed really nice and we will be returning soon.Brush and i took another trip to the argentine cemetery, we have some cool fotos that i need to send you all but i cant till next week:P i would have to say that when things are hard we just need to look at the good side of things. its so easy to look at the problems and trials and chaos that goes on all around us when its really so much better, easier and funner to look at the progress or good things in life. sure its hard sometimes but its possible! i love you all and hope you dont forget !
