hello to the Arizona heat! right now i could really use some of it! for the past two days it was raining and really cold but of course we tracted anyways. we got a little wet and it was a little hard to stay warmer but we survived. and the blessing is that we havnt gotten sick. the work this week was absolutley amazing and i dont really think i can describe it. we were really blessed and found 5 new investigators! and one of them we found Saturdayy and came to church the very next day! his name is Silvio and he is 23 years old, we are pretty sure this guy is going to serve a mission. speaking of missions Maxi essquivel, the second baptism ive had in Argentina has served 2 mini missions and i think started doing his papers to serve a full time mission! theres a little pride in my heart with that young man:P but things here in La Cumbre have been great, the members help a ton and even the less actives are helping. im pretty sure the number of less actives in church this sundays outnumbered those of the active members! and they give us a lot of refernces so even better! we have i belive 4 baptism dates for this month so we will have to wait and see which of them have a real change of heart. ARGENITINA made it to the semi-finals!!!! and surprisingly its the first time in 24 years!! we play on wednesday against Holanda(netherlands in inglish) and that is going to be a great match! and things are going to be crazy if we win or loze, so im hoping we win! today we played volleyball but with a soccerball and everything other than hands, i love the Futbol here!!!! it never gets tiring!! overall a really great week full of blessings and excitement for the wolrd cup(Mundial! from the sound of it everyone at home is doing great and had fun at the beach in cali, im a little jealous but then i realize im in argentina!!! haha i love everyone but i just might stay in argentina serving the lord for a little longer than 2 years:P i love everyone and pray that you are all safe and doing well! nos vemos, y desfrutan el mundial!!! by the way im not sre if you can use it but there is a site you can watch all the games live, "futbollparatodos" just in case yu want to watch the reast of the world cup:) `

So a little less then a year ago I started on one of the hardest things i have ever decided to do. I joined the ranks of the Lords army and a group of very special and amazing women. As a Sister missionary I often feel like I am not good enough. That Elders can so so much more good because they are stronger, braver and bigger. They have the priesthood they can help in ways the I will never be able to.
To any Sister who feels this way " Stop it" If all God ever wanted was Elders why in the world would he have lowered the age for us to go out? Why would girls even be allowed to come out on missions? The answers is GOD NEEDS US WOMEN!!!! Men and women are different so I am not saying that we dont need Elders because we do. But God needs each of us. Girl and boys we each bring something that the world needs. YOU can only teach the people YOU meet. God gave them to you because he trusted you to teach these people and only your testimony can touch them in the way that they need.
Being a sister missionary is had my companion and i were joking around and she said that the "Churches best kept secret is how hard a mission really is". it is not a walk in the park you will wake up tired, and people will not always be kind. But I know this That have no need to hang our heads because when we are yelled at, when people say horrible things We are, I am, YOU are standing shoulder to shoulder With the savior himself. he is here with us knocking doors with us he is here every step of the way. When I cry I know he is crying with me, when I am happy because someone finally listen and didnt slam the door he is happy. Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father love their Sister Missionaries and I love being a missionary. There is not greater joy then being a Sister Missionary!!

so this week it finally started getting really cold here in argentina. its started freezing at night and with the humidity you dont stay warm for long. but i found out that i actully like scarfs haha before i just thought that they were for women to look good, but now i know the truth! they help a lot! this week the U.S made it to the octavos along with argentina. saturday chile got sent home by brazl in penalty kicks. and just yesterday mexico got sent home by the netherlands! argentina plays tomorrow and of course we will get to watch the game because it just happens to be during our lunchtime:P this week we were also blessed to find two new investigators that seem interested n the gospel so we will have to wait and see what happens with them! but im excited to teach more people. me and my cmpanion are still doing great, we ended up cleaning the apartment this morning because it was gettng dirty. also we have been working a lot with the memebers of the ward and they really are excited to help us so it makes things even better, and easier. i have a stronger desire to share the gospel wth everyone, i still have a long way to go but i feel great and my companion and i joke around a lot so being happy definallty helps! this area likes to feed us a lot even when we only stop by for a quick message we end up leaving wth something in our hands, so it gives us a little more desire to do excercizes at 6:30 in the morning when its 0 degrees outside. other than the great food and the work moving forward everything seems to be doing great! and if its not great then thats okay too:P but the whole earthquake in safford thing is pretty crazy! just more prrof that we are in the latter days! its exciting! but i love you all and hope yur weeks have been as great as mine! AGUANTE AREGENTINA!!!! Elder Whetten

momma! this past week has been great!! i dont know if you've gotten to look it up on google or anything but its a really beautiful place, you can definitely tell they have more money here. but our area still has its villas(ghetto) so that is good. they say that it can be dangerous in some parts but my companion has been here for 5 months and noting has happened so far(knock on wood) my companion is Elder Castillo and he is really legit, i haven't gotten along with another companion like him. we have a lot of fun and laugh a lot, but still remember when its time to teach and invite the spirit. the good thing about the area is that the members here help out a lot. we eat mostly with less active members so we see them at least once a week so we are able to invite them to more activities and of course Sundayy and i guess a year ago this place flooded really bad and a lot of people and kids dies because of it. im not telling you this to scare you im just filling you in haha they say the water in some places was up to two stories deep so thats just crazy! today we were able to play some soccer during the Chile-Netherlands game and we took pictures but i cant send them this week because i forgot my usb converter:P but everything here is doing good, my companion loves American pancakes so i made some this morning that turned out really good! and 3 days ago he got sick to the point where he didnt get out of bed so i had some extra study time and personally that was great! he is also the district leader here in la Cumbre so he says that the next transfer he is leaving and i will be the district leader and train at the same time:P i guess ill just have to wait and see what happens. but im doing great and finally started doing some exercises with my companion because turns out that he used to do a lot of BMX type stuff with a bike so we really get along! i love you and pray for everyone of you!

Oh my goodness I love the temple so much it is pretty much the coolest and best feeling in the world!!!! It was so great to be with a bunch of missionaries in the temple and i can feel the blessings that come when yall pray for us it is truly fantastic.

Well this week was a hard one but a great one no one we invited came to church and the miracle we have who is on date for baptism the bishop is not excited for. We met the coolest guy ever and he is so ready for the gospel and we get to teach him. We have been working so hard and we are feeling the blessings coming from that.

I want to thank all of the bishops and relief society presidents and stake presidents that I have ever had  being a missionary we get to see a very different side of your callings. I want to thank you all for your amazing dedication to the Lord and to the missionary work. I now that you all have so much on your plate and it is a lot of hard work but thank you for making time for us the missionaries.
Well i love being a missionary i never want to come home but i am so excited to take what i have learned and use it back at home. I am so grateful for the temple and the work that is done in the walls that is to bind families forever. I love you all and hope you have a great week!!
