Jesse E-mail - February 10, 2014

this `week was one of those weeks in the mission that i wont forget. so many great things happened its hard to remember them all. which was a blessing because i really needed to keep my head busier than usual. well this week the rain decided to come back again!! this time is was even harder! outside of the apartment in the street the water was up to our waist!! i have pictures to send but i packed my bags and memory card and i didnt have time to find it before i came to cyber. but i have a picture of two grown men in those really long yellow trench coats, rowing an airup water raft down the street with another man pushing them along ill get those to you next week!! luckily though once again we were on the second story and no water came in. but we did have to help the lady down stairs get everything off the floor so it wouldnt get ruined. the lady even came into our apartment and cooked us lunch which was really weird because we really are not supposed to have any type of girl in our apartment!! it was just one of those moments where i thought i was going to heck because we had a 55 year old woman in our apartment:P the water ended up not draining till about 8 at night so we werent able to do anything all day, so we did the next best thing. Service. we just went around members houses lifting up fridges so they wouldn't get ruined. so we got a good workout too:) and maxi was given the Melchizedek priesthood yesterday!! i got to be present for that. he really is such a god guy and i pray that he serves a mission!! ohh yeah and i finally got moved!! i am now in my second area serving with Elder Aldana! i knew him before but now i get to be his companion. we are serving in the area of La Florida! not sure how the area is quite yet because i only went to the apartment so far:P but i will probably have more to say about it this next week! it was hard to leave parque baron but honestly I'm just ready to go! a new area means a new beginning and i can improve on my weaknesses. I've found that the church is true no matter where you go, it will be the same. but its the people who you share it with that make the most difference.

HELLO ARIZONA!!!!
So this week has been exciting it snowed on Saturday and it was a pretty hevey snow and it was so much fun. we woke up sunday morning and i made a snow man and a snow angle. and i pull a stupid typical Diana and i wore sandles in the snow amd i even walked bare foot it was fun and i still have all my toes so that is good. the weather has been really reallly cold and i miss the sun. but all is well

the work has been been doing great I love being in the samoan ward its the best!!! I have been called fat by 2 men in the ward now but i dont mind it just means i am eating there food.
well i am out here living to dream and i know there is no where else i would reather be then here sharing the gospel i know that the Atonement works for everyone even if you are not a member of the Church Jesus Christ suffered for all of Gods children who choose to follow him. i am so thankful to know that my family is a forever family. well everyone have a great week and know that God loves you.

Hello America!! how is the cold treating you all because i could use some of it! the heat on top of humidity continues to destroy me! i miss my dry Arizona heat! but enough about home heres whats going on in Argentina! i didnt get to message two weeks ago because our P-day was canceled:P but that Wednesdayy we got the opportunity to attend the temple as a district! i sent some pictures but i still have so many more to send. especially because i got my other memory card cleansed of sin and the virus is off!! so i should be sending pictures soon! the temple was absolutely amazing though, it felt so good to be back inside those walls! it really feels like home inside the temple, i didnt even feel like i was in Argentina. i just felt at home. its a little sad that we only get to go once a year but its very understandable with the amount of work we have been set apart to do!
Transfers are coming up next week on the 10th and im pretty sure this time that i will be leaving my first area! ive been here six months and i think its time for a change:P also last tuesday it rained all night and into the morning and we got flooded! not into the apartment or anything because we are on the second floor. but i will send pictures to show you all how it was:) yesterday we also were blessed to have a baptism of Andrea garcia! she is a really nice woman with two children but no husband. we are starting to teach her 12 year old son who has accepted the lessons and is really smart!! the baptism was great though and the ward really got together to make it great! we gave the honors of baptizing to a young man in the ward who is just about to leave for his mission! i had the chance to be a witness and that was good enough for me:) some other things happened this week that shouldn't be heard by the ears of an already worried mother:P but all is well and im still safe and loving every minute of the mission! there was a moment this week that i will share though. my companion and i were walking to a siesta/lesson with a member when a lady ran out of her house screaming. she was crying because her brother had just passed away and her crys were full of pain. its moments like this that make me happy to be a member of the true church. we know where we are going why we are here. and that life is just the first step to an even better one to come! i have been blessed with many of these moments in the mission where i have no doubt in my heart that this is the true church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. some would say that missionaries are out in the field changing lives, which is true. but i believe these people were also prepared to change my life. i love and miss everyone at home! i hope everyone has a good week! be safe and know i love you!!

Talofa!!

Well this week was great we put 4 people on date for baptism for February. I cant wait to see some one in white that i helped bring to the Gospel. Everyday that passes by just makes me so sad because it means my mission is one day closer to coming to an end. :( I love being a missionary so much and i have truly learned to love these people and the taught of going home has made me cry a few times so i just  have decide to not think about it any more. but i do want to share with you some things I have learned on my mission so far.
1.) Just because you have a beautiful face doesnt mean people will listen to you. The Spirit is the one who touches peoples heart.
2.) Some companions that I get will bring out the worst in me, but thats just the Lords way of helping me rely on him so that i can grow. Ether 12: 27
3.) The fastest way to bring the spirit is to sing hymns and bear a strong but simple testimony.
4.) When I extend a commitment to someone I must be willing to change too.
5.) The longer you are out on a mission the more you see how awkward you get around Elders.
6.) No matter how long you have been out on your mission your mission President will bring up marriage at every zone conference.
7.) You will get fat no matter how hard you try.
8.) The Lord will do what he wants because He knows best and doenst care how big a fit you through.
9.) Preach My Gospel is the best book every written!!!! Right under the Book of Mormon of course.
10.) Everything I am learning now is preparing me for something better.
I love being a missionary SOOOOOOOOOO much and it makes me sad to think that I wasted the first 5 months but I have learned and i will work hard and I will never back down. If any of you want to read something amazing read section 5 of Preach My Gospel it is my favorite chapter right now. thank you all for your prayers and love I promise that I will work hard. I love the Book of Mormon so much I know that it is the word of God I know that the Atonement is real and it works for everyone. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and redeemer! The Gospel of Jesus Christ is true!!  I love all of you so much and I hope you are able to see all the blessings the Lord has given you today!!! till next week.
